75% of attendance to all (and 55% to married women students if they have conceived during the academic year and submitted medical certificates from the Government hospital D.G.O ) is required to appear for the university Examination.
For 65% and below 75% of attendance ,the students , by paying the prescribed condonation fee to the University (with the recommendation of the Head of the institution to condone the lack of attendance ) in the form of a D.D , drawn in favour of the Registrar , Annamalai University ,Annamalai Nagar ., at least 15 days before the commencement of the university Examination shall be permitted to appear for the university examination.
For55% and below 65% of attendance, the students will not be permitted to appear for the regular examinations, but only to the next semester of the programme after paying the prescribed fee for both theory and practicals separately.
For below 55% attendance the students will not be permitted to appear for the regular examinations but only to the next semester after re-joining the course for which they lack attendance . Prior permission is to be received from the university to rejoin the course.
For below 55% of attendance in any one of the semesters due to extraordinary circumstances, the student should produce medical certificate from the authorized Medical Officer and duly certified by the Principal to attend the next semester and to complete the course of study by paying the fee for the period of break as prescribed by the university.
Those students who fail in any paper under parts I&II shall complete that paper within five attempts and under part III within 5 years from the date of admission to the course, inclusive of the first examination. If they fail to do so, they shall take the examination in the revised syllabus, if any prescribed for the immediate next batch of the candidates.
